What Are Polished Concrete Floors?

 

 

Polished concrete floors are created through a multi-step mechanical grinding and honing process using industrial diamond abrasives. The surface of the concrete is progressively refined to achieve a smooth, dense, and reflective finish. Depending on the desired sheen level—matte, satin, or high-gloss—contractors may apply penetrating hardeners (densifiers) and surface sealers to enhance durability and appearance.

 

This type of flooring is ideal for both residential and commercial applications in Sydney due to its strength, longevity, and thermal efficiency. It’s particularly well-suited to high-traffic environments like retail stores, warehouses, offices, and modern homes.
